This study is concerned with pragmatic structure that composes the sermon of Imam Ali ibn Al-Hussein (A.S.) in the palace of Yazid Bin Muawiya in Syria after the Battle of Karbala (61 A.H.). This study highlights a problem of the religious speeches since there is a gap in the pragmatic analysis of such genre that entails a more comprehensive precise of pragmatic scrutiny. Consequently, it aims to reveal embedded meanings in a sermon delivered by the Imam to describe the sermon that relies mainly on qualitative and quantitative analysis by using eclectic model consisting of Hymes‟s (1974) speech events and Yule‟s (2000) presupposition. It shows the most common types of presupposition employed in the Imam‟s speech to support the pragmatic structure. The important conclusions of this study are: Speech events and certain types of presupposition are used in specific ways to achieve the Imam‟s aims to consolidate the pragmatic structure. For persuasive purposes, the commonly types used in this sermon are the existential and structural presupposition to give the Imam‟s speech high degree of accuracy that represents his linguistic originality. There is a lack of using other types of presupposition because the Imam avoids employment of such types which are not adopted highly in this sermon since his aim is to show the status of the Prophet's household and warning of the bad consequences for attendants. The interrelationship between speech events and presupposition comes from the variation in the situation and audience.

Middle East has recently witnessed a remarkable growth in the emergence of terrorist groups and organizations that threaten the security and safety of societies and countries especially in Iraq. It is worth noting that these organizations ،which describe themselves as jihadists have given special importance to the media and made it one of the most significant weapons which used by them in their conflicts. The pictures of sermons and video clips broadcast by these organizations take an advanced position among their followers. The field of pictures and media witnessed qualitative leaps of development that transformed from transferring data and words to a propaganda arm which is capable of mobilizing public opinion. This research begins with the introduction about ‘Semiotic Propaganda’ including; 1. The problem which is “how is the ideology of the terrorist organizations spread widely in addition to how the influence of power is reproduced in the discourse of terrorist organizations”،2. questions as: “What are the strategies and ideologies that were used by terrorist organizations to convince their followers?”،3.aims such as: “ highlighting the reasons behind ISIS spreading throughout knowing: Its hypothesis، procedures، and the value of this study”. This research، after that ،tries to mention definitions and explanations of some terms that related to this topic including principles and techniques of the persuasions، global media discourse، data analysis and dimensions of semiotics analysis. The last part focuses on presenting general conclusions. This research by using Kress and Van Leeuwen’s (2006) multimodal approach aims at revealing the embedded meanings within a number of pictures in various platforms of social media. Multimodal approach was used in this research to describe the gathered material that relies mainly on image analysis rather than on statistics without using questionnaires or interviews. Instead of that the research deals with the analysis of images in ISIS’s news papers، magazines or video clips in websites between 2013 and 2021

Using homonymous words enables speakers/writers to make their interactions/ writings successful, effective and more agreeable with others to increase their influence in making key points and to reveal the ambiguity in the communication.

The paper deals with applied pragmatics by showing the conversations between the doctor and the patient in the TV series (Doctor House) using pragmatic strategies to find out which of these strategies is more used in such conversations.

This paper attempts to examine Applied linguistic impairment through (The selected situations in the Season 1, Episode 2) of medical conversations in the TV series: (The Good Doctor) in which the main character is 'Dr. Murphy' who is an autistic resident doctor. The pragmatic impairment is spread in the world and there is difficult to identify exact nature of autism. This paper also endeavors to investigate the linguistic and pragmatic concepts of the autism through its definition and identify its scope to achieve the needs of the interactions between the interlocutors. Generally, interlocutor with autism is possibly to exhibit pragmatic troubles along with her/his interactions, but these troubles differ extremely from one person to another. This paper also attempts to shed light the applied pragmatic strategies and devices that can be exploited in three stages: launching, maintaining, and terminating of clinical conversations in the case of autism.
