ABSTRACT This research aimed to investigate the antibacterial activity of hot an aqueous extract of leaves Ziziphus spina Christy (Sidr), against biofilm formation of clinical isolates Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus haemolyticus. Ten isolates were diagnosed initially as Staphylococci then selected four isolates depending on virulence and resistance to different types of antibiotics. After that VITEK-2compact system (ID and AST) was used to confirm the species of Staphylococci. The results showed that three isolates reverting to Staphylococcus aureus and one to Staphylococcus haemolyticus. Investigation of S. aureus and S. haemolyticus isolates ability to forming biofilm using of Microtiter plate (96 well) methods, the results indicated that all of the isolates were able to produce the biofilm. The effect of Moxifloxacin and Penicillin G with (MIC), (Sub-MIC) and (Sub-Sub-MIC) were detected for preventing of S.aureus and S.haemolyticus biofilm production, as well as hot an aqueous extract of leaves Ziziphus spina Christy (Sidr) with tested against the biofilm formation, the results showed ability of tow antibiotics 50 mg/ml and plant extract to prevent biofilm formation.

Abstract This research was conducted on 48 women who suffered from spontaneous abortion for one and multiple fold during the first and second stage of pregnancy and with age averages ranging from 14-43 years. which have been confirmed to be infected with the Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) by using the Enzyme Link Fluorescent Assay technique (ELFA) ,However, they did not suffer from chronic diseases such as blood pressure, diabetes and other immune diseases , In order to measure the level of interleukin (IL-10) by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in blood samples, placenta and amniotic fluid that collected from women at the time of abortion and while they were in the Curettage Hall of Al - Zahra Hospital and Al-Hakim Teaching Hospital / Najaf Governorate, For the period from October 2015 to April 2016, comparison was made with 10 women who had no history of previous miscarriage or inflammatory disease and had been as control group. The results showed no significant differences between the level of the inflammatory inhibition factor interleukin (IL-10), that measured in the serum of abortive women and the control group, which reaching the level to (5.905 ± 1.5707) Pg/ml. also noted high Significant decrease P ≤ (0.01) in the interleukin (IL-10) concentration that measured in the placenta and amniotic fluid of abortive women compared to healthy Control group. From the above results, concluded that the decrease level of interleukin (IL-10) in abortive women infected with virus may be plays a major role in cases of spontaneous abortion.

ABSTRACT Objective: It aims to Evaluation the level of interleukin-6 concentration and TNF-α with the stages of infection for patients infected with HSV-1 and the controls. Methodology: The study was conducted at Hakim General Hospital and Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital. was divided the number of samples that have been collected 64 samples from patients with herpes simplex virus type I by 32 blood samples during the primary infection and recurrent and 32 blood samples after recovery from of infection as well as 16 blood samples collected from healthy donors and promised as a control group and carried her diagnosis specific of Immunoglobulin IgM and IgG HSV-1. The statistical analysis, by using (statistical package for social sciences) SPSS and one way ANOVA test. The least significant difference was calculated at the level P<0.05. Results: The results were obtained, and there was a significant increase (P<0.05) the level between concentration of interleukin-6 and TFN-α in patients during primary and latent infection compared with the control group. Conclusion: Increase the level of interleukin-6 and TNF-α plays an important role in the resistance to the virus during primary infection and maintain the Status latent virus. Recommendation: Study detection of herpes simplex virus type I in patients with thyroid and know the level of some cytokines. Keywords: Herpes simplex virus-1, Interleukin-6 (IL-6), TNF-α , Cold sore infection

Abstract: Many suggestions support that cytokines have pathogenesis role of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients and that may be related with disease progression and patient survival. But their prognostic significance in this disease is unknown. The study aimed to estimate the plasma level of IL-10 before and after treatment in patients with AML. Plasma concentrations of IL-10 were estimated in 26 newly diagnosed patients with AML and follow up 19 of them after treatments, 7 patients were died after induction, matched 16 individuals' healthy donors. IL-10 levels were estimated using the enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique. Patients were divided into two groups: 26 before treatment and 19 after treatment. The results showed that plasma concentrations of IL-10 were significantly higher in AML patients compared to control group. Moreover, plasma concentrations of IL-10 were significantly associated with non-responding (NR) AML patient after treatment compare to complete remission (CR). While it observed non-significantly before treatment. The study demonstrated that AML NR patients have increased plasma concentrations of IL‐10 after induction, suggesting that this cytokine is involved in the pathophysiological process of the disease and may be associated with poor prognosis of clinical outcomes.

Abstract A total of 328 seminal fluid samples were collected from infertile patients with various types of infertility; Azoospermia, oligozoospermia, asthenozoospermia, teratozoospermia aged between 19 to 60 years, in comparison with control group (Normospermia) for the period from 25/3/2013 to 17/8/2013. The following results had been obtained:- The interleukins (IL-1α and IL-18) concentration were measured in the present study by using enzyme linked Immune sorbent assay (ELISA). The result illustrated that there are highly significant correlation between IL-1α concentration in infertile patients and bacterial infection . There are elevation in IL-1α concentration reached to 35.9 mg/dl in comparison with uninfected infertile patients and control group (2.95 and 2.88) mg/dl respectively . It has been found elevation of IL-18 concentration in infertile patients with bacterial infection reached to 394.15mg/dl and 214.97 and 186.74 mg/dl for uninfected infertile patients and control group respectively with highly significant differences between concentration of IL-18 (P˂0.001) .All of these findings evidenced that there are strong relationships between immunological markers (Immunoglobulin ;IgG , IgM ,IgA and cytokines ;IL-1α and IL-18) that measured in various groups with bacterial infections may be enhanced immunological responses –especially –in infected infertile patients in comparison with other group.
