مختصر البحثThe current study was carried out to investigate phenolic compounds in zahdi dates pomace that remains from date
syrup industry. The experiment was included studying the chemical content of (50:50v/v) alcohol-aqueous extract of
zahdi date pomace, quantitative estimation of phenolic compounds and its antioxidant efficacy by assessing its ability
to bind iron(ll) ion and scavenging hydrogen peroxide. Results of chemical analysis of zahdi date pomace showed
that the moister and ash percentage reached 6% and 3, 45%, while the total content of sugars, fats and protein reached
20.7, 1.808 and 2.989g/100g respectively. Quantitative estimation of total phenols and flavonoids in alcohol extract of
zahdi date pomace showed increasing in total phenols content(TPC) amounted 151mg/100g, while total flavonoids
content(TFC) reached 16.4mg/g estimated depending on dry weight. Phenolic extract of zahdi date pomace showed an
ability to bind iron (ll) ion in comparison with EDTA-2Na compound and citric acid using different concentrations.
Results also showed that the best ability of zahdi pomace to bind iron (ll) ion in 2, 4 and 8mg/ml concentration at P<0.01. Whereas, the ability of zahdi date pomace to scavenging hydrogen peroxide reached 55% compare to ascorbic acid.

مختصر البحثThis study was conducted in poultry farm, Animal Production Dept., University of Kufa, Iraq,
during the period of 16/9/2012 to 20/10/2012 to investigate the effect of adding fermented
wheat bran by Aspergillus oryzae on some productive and physiological traits in broiler chicks
(Ross 308). 120 unsexed first day of age chicks were used and the average weight was 42 gm.
Chicks were randomly distributed to four experimental treatments (3 replicates for each
treatment and 10 chicks for each replicates) ,first treatment was a control while the three other
treatments were contains 1, 2 and 3% of fermented wheat bran respectively. Results showed a
significant effect (P≤0.05) of treatments on live body weight. The least value was in T3
namely 1820 gm while the highest live body weight was in T2 namely 1933 gm. Significant
effect (P≤0.05) of treatment total feed conception which improved in 35 days of age in T2 and T4. The results also showed no significant effects of treatments no mortality rate, PCV and Hb rate in 35 day of age.

Plastic has been an important part of our lives for the past decades, as the basic material for many different commodities. The wide
use of plastics has significantly impacted many products, especially nutritional ones. Plastic components affect many foods to
varying degrees, it depends on the nature of the packaged food, the length of the storage period, and the method of preservation.
The high temperatures significantly impacted the migration of many of the compounds present in the plastic coats to the food coat
and from there to the consumer, a bad health impact on the consumer. Many researchers and scientists have stressed the need to
find suitable alternatives for the manufacture of food coats, these materials were the use of materials derived from non-petroleum
polymers, which can decompose and avoid environmental pollution, in addition to not affecting the consumer.
