evaluation of the effect of some inflammatory markers, serum lactate dehydrogenase, gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, alkaline phosphatase on breast cancer in pre- and post menopausal women
الوصف Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women and one of the main causes of death, especially in the premenopausal age group. The aim of study was to estimate serum LDH, GGT, ALP levels and CA15-3 in 160 breast cancer patients at pre-and post-menopausal, who had at least 3 chemotherapy sessions and estimating levels of these markers at different stages of the disease, also, study their relationship with CA15-3. WBC, ANC, PLT, NLR, PLR, and ESR levels were significantly increased, while ALC, MPV and RBC were significantly decrease in breast cancer patients compared with control (P<. 01). No significant differences were observed in NLR, PLR and MPV levels regarding age (P>. 05). Serum LDH, GGT, ALP levels and tumor marker CA15-3 were significantly higher in pre and postmenopausal breast cancer patients compared with control (p<. 001). Postmenopausal patients had higher LDH and ALP levels and a significant decrease in GGT level and CA15-3 compared with premenopausal women (p<. 001). Pearson correlation coefficient showed the positive correlation of serum LDH vs. ALP (r=. 1017), LDH vs. GGT (r=. 7110) and CA153 vs. GGT (r=. 7131), while the relationship is reverse of GGT vs. ALP (r=-. 2103), CA15-3 vs. LDH (r=-. 3110) and CA15-3 vs. ALP (r=-. 5331) in postmenopausal patients. NLR and PLR levels were significantly higher in patients at stage IV compared to other stages (p<. 01). MPV level was significantly higher in patients at stage I compared to other stages (p<. 01). Serum LDH, GGT, ALP levels and CA15-3 were significantly higher in patients at stage
