Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly transmissible disease caused by Aphthovirus of the family Picornaviridae. This study aimed
to investigate the serological approach (non-structural protein [NSP] analysis) of 3ABC enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
to diagnose FMD cattle in vaccinated and unvaccinated animals. A total of 84 serum specimens, including non-vaccinated, singlevaccinated,
and multi-vaccinated samples, were collected from four districts in Baghdad Province, Iraq, to evaluate the antibodies to
NSP of the FMD virus. The ELISA was used to detect antibodies (NSP) of FMDV in the serum of cattle. The result showed that the
seroprevalence was estimated at 34% (29/84) in farm animals. The seroprevalence rates of FMD in relation to the age of infected animals
were obtained at 21%, 7%, and 6% in 9-23-, 24-36-, and ≥ 36-month-old groups, respectively. The consequences of the examination of
the sera from naive, immunized, and non-immunized infected farm animals applying 3ABC-ELISA were presented; accordingly, the
incidence rates of FMD infection in non-vaccinated and vaccinated animals were 18 (75%) and 11 (18%) respectively. Negative results
were recorded in the immunized group 49 (82%) higher than in the non-immunized group 6 (25%). Evaluation of NSP antibodies to
isolate vaccinated animals from infected ones showed that the application of these assays was significantly useful for FMD prevention
and control management programs in infected areas.

مختصر البحثThis study was conducted to exam 100 fecal samples and 50 tissue samples from (100 ) buffaloes above one years at different villages and townships in Al-Najaf governorate from (January 2020 to January 2021) to detect of specific insertion Sequence IS900 in Mycobacterium paratuberculosis (John's disease) nested PCR. Out of 150 (100 fecal and 50 tissue) samples tested by Nested PCR, 14(9.3%) were positive for IS900 specific gen, Significant difference at P<0.05 in molecular result were observed between tissues and fecal samples. The molecular results revealed that 6(6%) out of 100 fecal sample were positive, while 8(16%) of tissue sample were positive for IS900 specific gen. There was no significant difference at P<0.05 in relationship between age gender and location with paratuberculosis prevalence

مختصر البحثThis study aimed to detect the molecular characterization of Streptococcus pyogenes
(S. pyogenes) that isolated from respiratory diseases in local goats breed in Najaf
province. The research was done during one year period from April (2012 and 2013).
Eighty-seven nasal swabs were taken from clinically infected goats, which showed
typical respiratory signs such as nasal discharge, cough, fever, dyspnea and ocular
mucopurulent discharge. Isolation and identification of S. pyogenes were determined
by the classical microbiological techniques. Seventy-six (87.3%) bacterial isolates
were grown on blood agar with Bacitracin disk. Out of 76 bacterial isolates, 48 (63%)
were shown Beta-hemolysis and sensitivity to bacitracin disk while, 28 (36.8%) were
resistance to bacitracin and revealed different hemolytic types. The results of
molecular investigations confirmed the presence of streptococcal collagen-like
protein (Scl1) gene in 7 (14.5%) out of 48 isolates by conventional PCR technique.

مختصر البحث Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) is one of the most common causes of
respiratory illness in goats globally, resulting in major financial losses. The goal of this Survey
was to determine the incidence of Bovine Respiratory Syncytial virus in Al-Najaf goats and the
risk factors for this disease. Between December 2021 and November 2022 For this study, 200
goats of various ages and breeds from Al Kufa, Qadisiyia, Hayderia, and Abbasyia in Al-Najaf,
Iraq, were tested. The animals' epidemiological information was recorded. An indirect Elisa
test kit was used to establish the disease's incidence. The incidence of BRSV in goats was
44.5%, and it was substantially higher in Goats aged more than one-year (50.4%). The
incidence of BRSV in male and female goats did not vary significantly. Compared to samples
taken during the other seasons, those collected in the winter had a significantly higher BRSV
incidence. There was a significantly difference in disease infection rate (P≤0.05) among mixed
goats compared with others that were not mixed with other specious. The results revealed that
the imported animals had a significantly higher prevalence than the native goats. In
Conclusion: Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus is predominant in goats from the Al-Najaf
province and risk factors such as animal age, herd size, origin, and the herd’s geographical
location are related to an increased occurrence of the disease in this region. Routine
vaccination plans must be assumed to decrease the incidence of BRSV in goats.
