Abstract

Abstract Field experiment was conducted in a farm of Najaf governorate during 2013-2014 season , to study the effect of different concentrations of ascorbic acid and humic acid on the growth and productivity of okra plant cv. Betra . The experiment included 9 treatments i.e. the interaction of three concentrations of ascorbic acid ( 0 , 50 and 100 mg.L-1 ) and three concentrations of humic acid ( 0 , 1.5 and 3 ml.L-1 ) spraying were applied twice during growth season at fifteen days interval. Factorials experiment within Randomized complete Block Design ( R.C.B.D ) was used with three replications , Means were compared according to least significant difference L.S.D test at probability of 0.05 . Results can be summarized as follow: The use of concentration 100 mg. L-1 of ascorbic acid had a significant effect on all vegetative growth parameters ( plant length , leaves number , branches number, stem diameter , shoot fresh and dry weights) compared with control treatment ( sprays with distilled water ) which gave the least means values . Humic acid spraying with 3 ml. L-1 had a significant effect on all vegetative growth parameters compared with control treatment . Interaction between the two factors gave a significant effect on all vegetative growth .100 mg.L-1 of ascorbic acid had a significant effect on all root growth parameters ( root length , main roots number , root fresh and dry weights) compared with control treatment which gave the least means .Humic acid spraying with conc. 3 ml.L-1 had a significant effect on all root growth parameters compared with control treatment . The use of 100 mg.L-1 ascorbic acid had a significant effect on some chemical charcterstictis and yield (total chlorophyll content in leaves, total soluble carbohydrate content in leaves and yield of plant) compared with control treatment which gave the least means. Humic acid spraying with conc. 3 ml. L-1 had a significant effect on some chemical characteristics and yield of plant compared with control treatment which gave the least values. Interaction between both factors showed significant effect on some chemical characteristics and yield of plant. Keywords: Ascorbic acid, Humic Acid, Okra.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted on plant okra for the period 2.3.2015 to 15.6.2015 in the canopy of the department of horticulture / faculty of agriculture / university of kufa to discuss the possibility of using aquatic plant (hornwort) fertilization and widespread in the euphrates river in the kufa city, compared with fertilizers of animal fertilizers (sheep only) and organic fertilizer (plant and animal residues winery) and composting (waste sheep + Poultry) is fermented as well as the treatment of control ,the cultivation of okra plant as furrow and watering using a drip irrigation system. The results showed significant superiority for the treatment of fertilization of hornwort compared to other treatments in most of the parameters of the plant (P, K, chlorophyll and plant height ) as well as reduce the salinity of the soil, which reached at the end of the season for the treatment of hornwort (0.75) Dessie Smenz.m -1 compared to treatments, which reached to (1.22 and 1.30 and 1.65 and 20.4) Dessie Smenz.m -1 for the treatments fertilization (organic waste composting and sheep + poultry and sheep and remnants of comparison) on respectively,. The yield was increasing in hornwort and organic treatments (6.920 and 6.343, and 3.428) tons. Ha-1 compared with yield of treatments ( remnants sheep + poultry and sheep and remnants of comparison) on respectively,. This is due to the high content of hornwort from elements (N, P K,), which reached to (4.15, 5.26 and 17.50) gm.kg -1 respectively. The results indicate the possibility of using hornwort plant which spread dramatically in the Iraqi freshwater and which has caused environmental disadvantages certified as fertilizer to the soil and this can be achieved one of the principles of sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

An experiment was conducted in a private fields in Alhaidariya Al-Najaf province , to study the influences of adding biostimulative Bio Health and spraying Salicylic acid in growth parameters and yield of potato product c.v (Bellini). during Spring and Autumn seasons 2014 - 2015. Four levels of Biohealth (0,2000,4000 and 6000) g.ha-1 and three concentrations of Salicylic acid (0,75 and 150) mg.l-1was added. Experiment was adopted as Randomized Complete Block Design (R.C.B.D). with three replicates means were compared by Duncan Multiple Rang test at the level of probability of 0.05. . Results showed the superiority of the treatment of adding biostimulative (Biohealth) at level 6000 g.ha-1 and spraying with Salicylic acid at concentrate of 75 mg.l-1 in plant length (86.00 and 76.70) cm . plant -1 , number of plant leaves (81.10 and 73.93) leaves. plant -1 , total leaf area (2833.80 and 2509.28) cm2.plant -1, average tuber weight (97.00 and 85.00) g. plant -1, plant yield (0.884 and 0.756) kg.plant-1 , total yield per unit area (46.00 and 40.32) ton.h-1, and starch content (13.06 and 12.78%) in Spring and Autumn seasons respectively as compared to control treatment which gave the least values

Abstract

Field experiment was conducted in AL-Najaf Governorate during the season of 2011 in two cultivations (spring and autumn) .The aim was to study the effect of different concentrations of organic manure ,different sizes of tuber seeds and Ascorbic acid spraying on growth and yield of potato plants (Solanum tuberosum L.) cv. Proventa. The experiment included 24 treatments, i.e. the interactions of four levels of organic manure (0, 75,100 and 125 kg/furrow), three tuber sizes (big, medium and small) and two concentration of ascorbic acid (0 and 150 mg/l.,the ascorbic acid was sprayed twice during the growing season with 15 days intervals, that was done on 45 days from cultivations. Factorial experiment conducted with Randomized Complete Block Design (R. C. B. D.) was used with three replications. Means were compared according to Duncan's Multiple Range Test at probability of 0.05. Results can be summarized as follow: 1- The use of different amounts of organic manure had significant effect on all measured vegetative growth parameters (plant length, aerial stem number and shoot dry weight(g),125 kg/furrow gave the highest means for the measured parameters for both cultivations. On the other hand , tuber size that used in cultivation plants produced from big size tuber gave significantly bigger plants with higher means for measured parameters compared to that plants produced from small and medium tuber. Meanwhile, ascorbic acid addition on vegetative growth had a positive significant effect on most measured parameters. The interaction among the three factors gave the same trends on vegetative growth parameters. 2- There were significant effects for the use of organic manure on marketable yield for both cultivations. Treatment of 125 kg/furrow gave the highest means for the measured parameters compared to control treatment that gave the least means values. Moreover, the size of used tuber at cultivation produced significant effects on marketable yield for both seasons. Bigger tubers produced the highest marketable yield compared to that plants produced from medium and small tuber size at cultivation for both seasons. Ascorbic acid spraying gave higher amount of marketable yield compared to non sprayed plants (control). Interactions of the three tested factors were significant on marketable yield amounts giving 35.93 and 24.98 ton/h. from the interaction of 125 kg/furrow big tuber size at cultivations and spraying with ascorbic acid compared to that amount of marketable yield (11.81 and 10.07ton/h.) obtained from the interaction of with out using organic manure (control), small size tuber at cultivation and with out ascorbic acid spraying (control).
