this research aims to set to explore the possibility of restructuring the movement system of the Wadi Al-Salam Cemetery based on its monuments. The research assumes that the texture of the cemetery can resemble the fabric of the city in terms of adopting the presence of religious monuments to structure spaces.

The objective of the research is to extract the most important dimensions and indicators of its negative impact on the urban fabric, including the most important causes, patterns and appearances. This study found that the impact of urban shrinkage locally starts in the social dimension first, where affiliation and stability of the region decreases with increasing population migration, revealing the impact on the economic dimension, reducing investment, trade and employment opportunities in the fabric, thus affecting the urban dimension, all of which are evident in the declining fabric quality

Cities pass through several transformations during their stages of development, the most influential was the one that accompanied the industrial revolution and modernity, resulting in scattered structures, functional requirements and industrial activities that affected cities spatially. The advancement of knowledge, technological development, innovation, and industrial progress in the post-industrial era had a great impact on the adoption of more technological applications in conjunction with the global transformations and globalization, this has resulted in the phenomenon of neglected buildings. which has been reflected in buildings, structures, industrial zones, and the quality of urban fabric, and its scene, from which the problem of research was identified as "lack of cognitive perception showing the impact of neglected buildings on the urbanscape ". In order to address the research's problem, a comprehensive theoretical framework was developed for the concept of abandoned buildings, the main reasons, levels of abandonment, and neglect in general. The most important suggestions the impact the quality of the urbanscape, in particular, The research has reached special conclusions, recommendations,procedures and requirements for the owners of buildings to achieve and reduce its negative impact on the urban-scape.

The urban fabric of any city is the product of interconnected socio-economic forces, harmony between these forces means balance in the urban environment, the important role of time in shaping the urban image of the city and giving it a distinctive character through their activities and interactions. As the urban expansion of the cities and the transformation of the structural characteristics of their urban fabric became more important, the realization of the spatial fittness of the functional requirements became one of the important topics that the studies dealt with. In order to deal with the research's problem, the concept of fittness has been defined, in general, and the fittness of spatial-functional requirements in terms of planning, in particular, and the testing of the relationship in selected urban fabric using the Space Syntax (Depth Map) method. The research has led to the submission of a planning proposal for the development of the study area to achieve the spatial fittness of the added functional requirements.

ضمن نشاطاتها العلمية المستمرة، نظم قسم التخطيط الحضري في كلية التخطيط العمراني – جامعة الكوفة، ورشة علمية لطلبة المرحلة الثالثة بعنوان: "مبادئ التكوين العمراني وأثره في تعزيز منظومة الحركة"، وذلك يوم الأحد الموافق 23/3/2025، بإشراف عدد من أساتذة القسم. م.م. محمود حسين محمد علي الموسوي م.م. محمد حسين عبد مهدي المعمار هدفت الورشة إلى تسليط الضوء على أهمية التكوين العمراني كأحد المرتكزات الأساسية في صياغة بيئة حضرية مستدامة وفعالة، ودوره الحيوي في تنظيم حركة الأفراد والمركبات وتحقيق الانسيابية المكانية. كما تناولت الورشة تحليلًا لمفاهيم التصميم الحضري الحديثة التي تعزز من تكامل النسيج الحضري، وتدعم شبكات الحركة الحضرية. وقد تميزت الورشة بتفاعل الطلبة من خلال المناقشات المستفيضة والتطبيقات العملية، مما يسهم في تعزيز الفهم الأكاديمي وربط الجانب النظري بالتطبيق الميداني.

إقامة ورشة علمية بعنوان (الاسكتش ألية للتفكير في التصميم والتخطيط الحضري)، وذلك في يوم الثلاثاء الموافق (22/3/2022)، حيث يتضمن الورشة المحاور التالية:  المحور الاول: الشرح عن الكتاب (Conceptual Sketches In Architecture)، من تأليف المدرس المساعد محمود الموسوي، والمهندسة اسراء أبو المعالي.  المحور الثاني: الشرح عن تطبيق المفاهيم الفلسفية في التصميم والتخطيط الحضري، تلقيها المدرس المساعد سارة عبد العالي رشيد.  المحور الثالث: عمل تمرين Sketches للحضور الكرام في الورشة، لتصميم وتخطيط منطقة حضرية بصيغة Sketches، ومن ثم اختيار أفضل الرسومات Sketches، وتكريم الفائزين

تم بعون الله تعالى في يوم الاثنين المصادف 28/1/2018 مناقشة طالب الماجستير( محمود حسين محمد علي ) عن رسالته الموسومة ( الانكماش الحضري - اثر المباني المهملة في النسيج الحضري ) ، تضمنت الرسالة مضمون الانكماش في التصميم الحضري، وطرح الادبيات السابقة التي تناولت مفهوم الانكماش الحضري بشكل شامل
