Abstract

This investigation looks at the additive impact of polypropylene fibers to the concrete properties. The structural performance of polypropylene fibers concrete double tee beams was also inspected. Four-point bending tests were prepared with fiber content (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2% by weight) to inspect the flexural strength and deflection of double tee beams. Additionally, the impact of PPF on the beams with various amounts of transverse steel reinforcement was explored. The outcomes demonstrate that fiber addition improved the concrete properties in general and enhanced the ductility and the load bearing capacity, control of cracking of the double tee beams remarkably. The highest increase in loading was 21.98%, at the same manner an increases were observed in the deflection values under the largest load compared to the control sample. Deflection was decreases with respect to the same loading stages with the increase of fiber contents, the highest recorded decrease was 21.47%. The polypropylene fiber can be used as a solution for the cases with stirrups congestion since the ultimate load was increases with the same spacing of stirrups. The polypropylene fiber usage was upheld as hopeful Technics for the different problems of concrete cracking in destructive situations.

Abstract

This examination went for analyzing the potential utilize reinforced concrete (RC) deep beams that had web openings by steel plates. Examinations were led to test thirteen deep beams under two point stacking with square openings. Each tried beam had a cross area of 100 mm x 400 mm and total length of 1000 mm. Two openings, one in each shear traverse, were set symmetrically about the midpoint of the slanted compressive strut. Test parameters incorporated the opening shape. It was presumed that the auxiliary conduct of deep beams that had openings was essentially subject to the intrusion level of the slanted compressive strut. In deep beam with openings, the first askew cracks showed up in the scope of 28% in experimental while the first cracking stress showed up in the scope of 30% in finite element software [abaqus]. The ultimate load close to the best and base corners of the openings. The nearness of unstrengthened openings diminished the mid-span deflection by ( 8% ) for SQ, specimen, as compared with abaqus result. ACI 318-14, area 9.9 [1] characterizes that deep beams ought to be loaded on the loading and supporting focuses in a way that compression pushes can develop between theories loading and supporting focuses. For the past time, the deep beams have been composed by the slender beam semi-empirical strategies. All things considered, some expository reports and exploratory outcomes have determined that internal forces redistribution before disappointment, internal force components and shear strength in deep beams are entirely unexpected International Journal of Scientific & Engineering Research Volume 9, Issue 5, May-2018 ISSN 2229-5518 413 IJSER © 2018 http://www.ijser.org IJSER

Abstract

In this paper, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and the Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Framework (ANFIS) are utilized to foresee the shear quality of Reinforced Concrete (RC) shafts, and the models are contrasted and American Concrete Institute (ACI) and Iranian Concrete Institute (ICI) observational codes. The ANN display, with Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), utilizing a Back-Propagation (BP) algorithm, is utilized to foresee the shear quality of RC pillars. Six vital parameters are chosen as info parameters counting: concrete compressive quality, longitudinal reinforcement volume, shear traverse to-profundity proportion, transverse support, compelling profundity of the bar and bar width. The ANFIS demonstrate is additionally connected to a database and results are contrasted and the ANN show and exact codes. The primary request Sugeno fuzzy is utilized in light of the fact that the resulting some portion of the Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) is direct and the parameters can be assessed by a basic minimum squares blunder technique. Correlation between the models and the observational equations demonstrates that the ANN display with the MLP/BP algorithm gives better expectation to shear quality. In addition, ANN and ANFIS models are more precise than ICI and ACI exact codes in expectation of RC bars shear quality. These study were verified by using powerful finite element program and gave suitable agreement with NNA approaches.

Abstract

An appropriate detailing of reinforcement in concrete structures is imperative as to basic conduct, security and great execution. Notwithstanding, governs in codes for detailing and minimum reinforcement proportions are not generally straightforward and interpret, since there is exceptionally constrained or no foundation information explaining the capacity and providing inspirations. The point of this undertaking was to investigate and explain the foundation for the tenets in the codes, particularly Eurocode 2, and give guidelines for good detailing, in view of past research and experience . Tenets and guidelines for detailing of reinforcement that may be hard to interpret or comprehend were distinguished by an initial investigation of the European Standard. From this examination the foundation to a portion of the ambiguities were examined all the more completely in an itemized writing study . An investigation consisting of interviews and a subjective overview was performed keeping in mind the end goal to assess how basic engineers interprets and applies the guidelines gave in ACI318 and Eurocode 2. This was performed likewise with the intention to illuminate ambiguities to have the capacity to recommend enhancements of the new standard . The writing study demonstrated that there is exceptionally constrained foundation information to ACI318 and Eurocode 2 and that it can be hard to find reply, if something is seen as indistinct in the code. In any case, learning about the principal hypothesis and required basic conduct of reinforced concrete structures can be sufficient to comprehend numerous necessities, why this is given in this report. The result from the investigation indicated that there are sections in Eurocode 2 that can be difficult to interpret. The standard needs to be improved or clarified in order to facilitate for the users and in order to know how to apply the rules on cases other than standard cases. Some of the identified problem areas in ACI and Eurocode 2 are for instance lapping of longitudinal reinforcement, concrete frame corners subjected to opening moment and limitations of crack widths for concrete members subjected to shear and torsion. In some cases, specific changes of Eurocode 2 have been suggested, while it in some cases is sufficient to add even stronger references between sections or include a short description of the motive for the intended rule, in order to improve the standard. A need for further research has also been identified in order to be able to improve certain parts of Eurocode 2.
