ABSTRACT COVID-19 is an emerging infectious disease caused by the novel enveloped single-stranded RNA virus quickly declared a pandemic. This study aimed to investigate the severity of COVID-19 infection in patients with blood group type A. A cross-sectional study was conducted at Al-Amal specialized hospital, Al-Najaf (March 8 to March 20/2021). The study included 123 hospitalized patients (63 females and 60 males), aged between 15-95 years, diagnosed with COVID-19, tested for blood group, blood sugar, blood urea, D-dimer, and serum ferritin. Results indicated significant differences in blood sugar and D-dimer in patients with type A blood group at P>0.05. At the same time, no significant difference was found in blood urea and ferritin at P>0.05. The majority of patients showed elevated levels of blood sugar, blood urea, serum D-dimer and ferritin. COVID-19 can infect people of all ages and causes severe infection in all blood groups.

This study was evaluate to find out the effect of low-dose compound oral contraceptives on some liver function in women employed by conducting some special liver function tests. The study included 30 women employed to pills in addition to 20 age matched healthy women included as control group. ALT, AST and ALP were estimated in sera levels for threads examined. A significant elevation found for ALT, AST, While ALP it observed decrease significantly in users when compared with non-users. In addition, study the effect of duration of use on hepatic parameters examined. The results showed significant differences in the effectiveness of ALT, AST and ALP. In addition, it has been observed correlation relationships between these significant parameters and duration of use. Therefore, which is used for birth control may have a negative effect on the liver function and safety

bstract This study aims to find out the side effects of the abuse of combined oral contraceptives COCS in women province of AL- Najaf through the study of their impact on changes in the weights of women who take the pill as well as its effect on systolic blood pressure readings of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure diastolic addition to studying some of the changes to levels . In this study, 100 women who are abusing the pill oral vehicle and divided into two groups depending on the age group, the first group included 50 women aged)30 -34) ,and the second group 50 women aged (35-40) . The results of these study showed no significant rise (p ≥0.05) in the body mass index BMI between the first and second test values, as well as, a significant increase (p <0.05) in diastolic blood pressure DBP readings while the study created a significant increase(p <0.05) slightly at a level of probability (p <0.05) in pressure readings SBP systolic blood while the study recorded a significant increase (p <0.05) in the percentage hemoglobin blood in the cases of SBP, DBP, and this indicates clearly to the negative effects of the abuse of ladies combined oral contraceptives and enriched their health.

Abstract : Objectives : Design this study to determine whether there was a relationship between gingival diseases and ABO blood groups . Methods : Data were collected from 129 subjects who were randomly selected from students referred to the Faculty of Dentistry .The study based on periodontal condition, blood group, and medical history. The effects of blood subgroups on periodontal health, gingivitis and periodontitis were investigated separately. Results : In the present study, all the cases were first segregated into groups based on Loe and Silness index as: group I (mild (initial) gingivitis), group II (moderate( early) gingivitis), and group III (sever (established) gingivitis), and were further divided into four grades based on Ramfjord's Periodontal Index. Blood samples were analyzed to determine blood group and Rhesus factor. Conclusions : ABO blood subgroups and Rh factor may constitute a risk factor on the development of periodontal disease. However, long-term studies are needed to make a more comprehensive assessment of the effects of ABO group on periodontal diseases.

Eruption is defined as the movement of the tooth from its site of development in alveolar bone to the occlusal plane in the oral cavity.The tooth eruption is a complex and tightly regulated process which is divided into five stages The ABO blood group was discovered in 1900 by Austrian scientist, Karl Landsteiner. At present. The ABO blood group system consists of four antigens (A, B, O and AB). These antigens are known as oligosaccharide antigens, and widely expressed on the membranes of red cell and tissue cells as well as, in the saliva and body fluid. Seventy student of twenty years old, ), they were diagnosed for the lower wisdom tooth eruption and compared to their ABO group, so they divided in to 4 groups (O,A,B and AB groups) which subdivided in to 2 subgroups, erupted lower wisdom tooth(1) and unerupted lower wisdom tooth(2). Statistic analysis showed the correlation of the number, mean, standard deviation, stander error, lower and upper bounds, minimum and maximum values of data collected for both erupted and unerupted lower wisdom tooth. According to the ANOVA test(table 2) showed high significant difference between all groups (P<0.01) in the mean of case's number. Conclusion: there were no relationship between the blood grouping and the eruption of the lower wisdom tooth

Abstract: This study was design to explain the action of insulin drug in saving on the normal level of immunoglobulins in diabetes mellitus patients compared with daonil drug . Fasting venous blood samples were taken from 60 subjects of which 20 patient with type І diabetes mellitus, 20 patient with type ІІ diabetes mellitus and 20 healthy individuals. All the blood samples were analyzed for C - Reactive Protein and immunoglobulins (immunoglobulin G, immunoglobulin A, immunoglobulin M). The results detected an increase in CRP in sera of patients with type ІІ group compared for patients with type І and control groups. Immunoglobulins (IgG,IgA) levels were increased in sera of patients with type ІІ group compared to patients with type І and control groups, while, IgM level was decreased in sera of patients with type ІІ group compared with patients with type І and control groups.
