2An awareness workshop entitled (Developing soft skills in women: emotional intelligence skills and building self-confidence)
Within the framework of the Third National Plan for Women, Peace and Security 2026 – Protection Pillar/Paragraph 2, the College of Law organized a training workshop on developing women's soft skills. Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law at the University of Kufa, Assistant Professor Dr. Thamer Mohammed Al-Issawi, the Women's Affairs Unit at our college held a training workshop entitled "Developing Women's Soft Skills: Emotional Intelligence and Building Self-Confidence." The workshop was presented by Ms. Ghufran Yassin Mohammed Al-Hashemi on Sunday, April 5, 2026. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of soft skills in enhancing women's role in society and improving their ability to deal with life's and work's challenges. It also sought to empower women to acquire emotional intelligence skills, which contributes to improving their ability to understand themselves, manage their emotions, and communicate effectively with others, as well as enhancing self-confidence to support their presence in various fields. The workshop concluded that it is essential to integrate specialized soft skills training programs into women's empowerment plans, raise community awareness of the importance of emotional intelligence in building healthy and stable relationships, support initiatives aimed at developing women's self-confidence, particularly in educational and professional settings, and provide a supportive environment that encourages women to express their opinions and abilities without hesitation. It also emphasized the importance of continuing to hold workshops and seminars that contribute to honing women's personal skills. The workshop concluded by affirming that developing soft skills, especially emotional intelligence and self-confidence, is the cornerstone of women's empowerment and enhancing their active role in society. Participants stressed the importance of continued institutional and community efforts to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
Posters were displayed on the college walls with the title "Plant hope for a flourishing future".
This activity aims to raise awareness ' concept of sustainable development and link it to the value of hope and positive action to build a better future for generations to come. Participants design posters that express the importance of preserving the environment, conserving resources, and supporting the community in sustainable ways. The activity focuses on illustrating that "planting hope" is achieved through practical practices such as tree planting, waste reduction, the use of clean energy, and promoting a culture of social responsibility, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, which seek to achieve a balance between the environment, the economy, and society. The activity also fosters creativity among participants and encourages them to deliver impactful awareness messages that contribute to building a conscious society capable of facing environmental and economic challenges. In conclusion: Sustainable development begins with an idea, grows with hope, and is achieved through action. By planting hope today, we create a prosperous and sustainable future for all.
