The study aims to elucidate the changes in sex hormones levelsin high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obese rats
and to evaluate the protective effects of metforminintervention. Male albino rats (n=50) were randomly divided into a
control group (standard diet), MF 500mg/kg groups, MF 250mg/kg groups, MF 500mg/kg + 150mg Vitamin C, MF
250mg/kg + 150mg Vitamin C. After period 30 days half number from each group were sacrifice and after 60 days
another rats were sacrifice. For both periods after rats sacrifice we were obtain blood samples, Serum was separated by
centrifugation for 10 minutes at 3000 rpm. The isolated serum was kept at -20°C until the measurement of hormones
levels. Compared with the control group, groups for two periods the hormones levels (LH, FSH, Testosterone) were
decrease significantly (p<0.05) compared with control group. Metformin can cause decrease in weights of body and
male sex hormones. Vitamin C improve the hormones levels (LH, FSH, Testosterone).
