Image encryption based on elliptic curve cryptosystem

AuthorsZahraa Kadhim, Najlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar
JournalInternational Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Abstract

Image encryption based on elliptic curve cryptosystem and reducing its complexity is still being actively researched. Generating matrix for encryption algorithm secret key together with Hilbert matrix will be involved in this study. For a first case we will need not to compute the inverse matrix for the decryption processing cause the matrix that be generated in encryption step was self invertible matrix. While for the second case, computing the inverse matrix will be required. Peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), and unified average changing intensity (UACI) will be used to assess which case is more efficiency to encryption the grayscale image.

AuthorsHaider Algelahawi, Najlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar
JournalInternational Journal of Applied Sciences and Technology
Abstract

Steganography is the science of embedding secret data inside data so they can be sent to destination security. Encryption algorithms used to save information from sly activities when sent from one device to another over the wireless network. In this paper McEliece will be used to text encryption by Goppa code, where McEliece cryptosystem is a public-key cryptosystem based on error-correcting codes; then embedding the ciphertext as steganography image by MSB method. This lead to save information from attackers.

Image Encryption Based on Menezes Vanstone Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem

AuthorsZahraa Kadhim, Najlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar
JournalSolid State Technology
Abstract

The encryption of images is quickly expanded as of late by the expanding utilization of the web and correspondence media, where the encryption techniques are the suitable methods to protect images from attacks. One of the important encryption techniques is Menezes Vanstone Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem. This paper proposes a new way to encode image using a modification of Menezes Vanstone Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem. According to the proposed algorithm, an image which is under study will divide into blocks containing only two numbers, these two numbers allow us to express them as an order pair, which will be one of the requirements of implementation the Menezes Vanstone Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem. Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Unified Average Changing Intensity (UACI) will be utilized to survey the image encryption productivity and contrast the encoded image and the original image to assess the exhibition of the proposed encryption method.

Abstract

Elliptic curves have been a subject of much mathematical study for the last century and there is a vast amount of literature accumulated on them. Recently, they have found application in the areas of cryptography. In this paper, we give a brief introduction to elliptic curves and its application on cryptosystems.

Steganography Algorithm Based RSA Cryptosystem

AuthorsNajlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar
JournalJournal of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Abstract

Nowadays, it is sometimes not enough to keep the contents of a message secret, it may also be necessary to keep the existence of the message secret, this is why we present in this paper a combination of cryptosystem algorithm and steganography. The proposed algorithm encrypts the information using RSA algorithm before hiding it in image file to increase the complexity of encryption and decryption process.

Speeding up the elliptic curve scalar multiplication using non adjacent form

AuthorsNajlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar , Mohamad Rushdan Md Said
JournalJournal of Discrete Mathematical Sciences and Cryptography
Abstract

Improvement in the implementation of elliptic curves cryptography and reducing its complexity are still being actively researched. The representation of integers in non adjacent form has been the subject of various investigations in slightly different contexts. The n -digit Non Adjacent Form (NAF) representation of an integer has no two consecutive non zero digits. Fewer non zero elements mean fewer point additions and therefore more efficient when we need to compute the most popular operation: elliptic curve scalar multiplication. In the present paper we reduce the number of required operations using this representation.

Speeding up the elliptic curve scalar multiplication using the window- w non adjacent form

AuthorsNajlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar, Mohamad Rushdan Md Said
JournalMalaysian Journal of Mathematical Sciences
Abstract

Nowadays, elliptic curve based cryptosystem is an efficient public key cryptosystem, The very expensive operation in this cryptographic protocol is the elliptic curve scalar multiplication (elliptic curve point multiplication). Efforts have been mainly focused on developing efficient algorithms for representing the scalar which is involved of elliptic curve scalar multiplication. One of these is using the window- w non adjacent form method. In the present work, the accelerating elliptic curve scalar multiplication using the window- w non adjacent form method is proposed, where the number of operations in the elliptic curve scalar multiplication has been reduced. The expected gain is about 20%, 14% and 7.6% comparing with using the anther methods to compute the elliptic curve scalar multiplication. 20%

High Performance Methods of Elliptic Curve Scalar Multiplication

AuthorsNajlae Falah Hameed AL Saffar, Najlae Falah Hameed AL Saffar, Mohamad Rushdan Md Said
JournalInternational Journal of Computer Applications
Abstract

Elliptic curve scalar multiplication is the operation of successively adding a point along an elliptic curve to itself k times. It is used in elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) as a means of producing a trapdoor function. In this paper, algorithms to compute the elliptic curve scalar multiplication using a special form for integers will introduce, and then two types of signed digit representation will use. The signed digit form of the scalar is calculated by many types of algorithms such as binary, non adjacent form and direct recoding. The results indicate that the proposed methods perform better to compute the scalar multiplication on elliptic curves and it is more efficient than the existing methods.

Improved Arithmetic on Elliptic Curves over Prime Field

AuthorsNajlae Falah Hameed Al Saffar, Mohamad Rushdan Md Said
JournalInternational Journal of Computer Networks and Communications Security
Abstract

A fast point doubling and point addition operations on an elliptic curve over prime field are proposed. This occur when we use a special coordinates system (to represent any point on elliptic curve over prime field. Using this system improved the elliptic curve point arithmetic by reducing the computation cost for point doubling and point addition operation

On the Mathematical Complexity and the Time Implementation of Proposed Variants of Elliptic Curves Cryptosystems

AuthorsNajlae Hameed Al-Saffar, MRM Said
JournalInternational Journal of Cryptology Research
Abstract

The group of the elliptic curve points forms an abelian group, which is considered as a suitable choice for constructing a problem similar to the Discrete Logarithm Problem. This creates and opens a new door for treatments of the special group and new operations. In 2005, Al-Saffar (2005) proposed two new methods for elliptic curve cryptosystems using the keys from the algorithm of Diffie–Hellman Key Exchange. In addition, she introduced a variant of the ElGamal scheme. Also, three propositions were introduced to develop the Menezes-Vanstone Elliptic Curves Cryptosystem (MVECC). In this paper, we will discuss all of these propositions and will compare them with the original schemes (ElGamal and MVECC) according to the complexity and the time which they took to implement each scheme.

Proposed Developments of Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm

AuthorsSattar B Sadkhan, Najlae Falah Hameed AL Saffar
JournalWorld Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology
Abstract

The Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA) is the elliptic curve analogue of DSA, where it is a digital signature scheme designed to provide a digital signature based on a secret number known only to the signer and also on the actual message being signed. These digital signatures are considered the digital counterparts to handwritten signatures, and are the basis for validating the authenticity of a connection. The security of these schemes results from the infeasibility to compute the signature without the private key. In this paper we introduce a proposed to development the original ECDSA with more complexity.
