Nowadays, Internet of Things (IoT) technology has become an important part of our lives, especially in monitoring the quality of human life. Since it employs the infrastructure and protocols of the internet to communicate between its devices, after embedding these devices with communication and computing capabilities, that will giving impressive results, including saving a lot of human effort, lowering the cost, real-time availability, and quick response. When this technology is integrated with wireless sensor networks (WSN), it will give great possibilities for environmental monitoring in agricultural fields, warehouses, smart cities, smart buildings…etc. One of the most widely used protocols in these networks is the Zigbee protocol, due to its being low-cost and energy-efficient. Data confidentiality, integrity, and availability constitute the most important factors in communication networks that should be maintained. So, the breakage one of it will form big vulnerabilities that threaten the security of these networks. In our study, we will address some of the vulnerabilities that may threaten networks that rely on the Zigbee protocol, and see the extent of their impact on the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data in this network.
