The decrease of the marshes of southern Iraq represents a major problem
as result of climatic changes and human conditions, especially the decrease in the
water revenue of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which has resulted in the expansion
of soil problems from waterlogging, desertification and salinity in the soil of the
