Abstract— The world is using religion and its variables to reduce corruption. Therefore, an individual’s participation in religious rituals might restrict their engagement in corrupt practices. This study examines the influence of religious beliefs, participation and values on corruption using a questionnaire distributed to a sample of (600) workers at the Iraqi Universities. The hypotheses tested by multiple regression technique with the help of SPSS software, we found negative effects between religious variables and corruption. We found that religious beliefs have negative association with levels of corruption. Prayers in Religious institution is influenced by the clergy, which serves as a set of life instructions to avoid corrupt practices.
