2- A biological study was conducted making use of a white mice, where changes
were observed in the organs parts after injecting solutions prepared from (25,50
and 100 ppm) oleandrin compared to the control groups of the mouse. It was also
noted that the organs were not affected when the white mouse was injected with
the solutions after adsorption on the surfaces. This means that we can reduce the
effect of oleandrin and its toxicity on the mice after its adsorption.
3-The topic of this study addresses the preparation of surfaces (Pomegranate
Peels Charcoal and Date Pits charcoal) as adsorbent surfaces due to their low
cost and abundance in nature to adsorb oeandrin from its aqueous solutions, and
because of the health hazards, this compound poses arisk to humans in particular
and living organisms in general. Therefore, several methods must be used to
remove it from the environment, one of which is the adsorption method on solid
porous adsorbent surfaces. Some of the factors affecting the adsorption process
were applied, including (the effect of equilibrium time, the effect of adsorbent
quantity, the effect of temperature, and the effect of pH). The study also includes
the application of six adsorption isotherm models, (Langmuir, Freundlich,
Elovich, Harkins–Jura, Temkin and Dubinin). It was found that the results of the
adsorption of oleandrin in this study provides a linear relationship with good
correlation coefficients (R2). All the aforementioned models were applied at a
temperature of 298K and an acidic function of pH=6. The results have shown
that the adsorption on both surfaces matched the Freundlich equation. Several
thermodynamic parameters, like Gibb's free energy altered (∆G), entropy (∆S),
II
and enthalpy (∆H). For both surfaces, the exothermic nature of the process can
be seen by the negative values of (∆H) and the negative values of (∆G), which
suggest that the oleandrin adsorption process is spontaneous in nature. (∆S) the
negative value ,indicates that the adsorption was less random for the molecules
on both surfaces. Pseudo first order and pseudo second order rate equations were
fitted using adsorption kinetics, and pseudo second order performed better than
pseudo first order.
4-The oleandrin compound was studied computationally using the Gaussian
09W program, the density functional theory (DFT) at B3 LYP with the basis 6
311G computed the physical properties, including the total electronic energy,
molecular orbitals with the highest occupancy (HUMO)= -5.932, lowest unfilled
(LUMO)= -1.714, the energy gap=4.218, the one infrared (IR) spectrum. and
other energy properties. The results have shown that the oleandrin compound
had a high gap in energy, meaning that is chemically inert
