The chemical insecticides have a negative impact on the environmental system and
accumulation in living organism. That led researchers to found an environmental friendly
methods. Thus this study included a series of laboratory experiments in ecological
department, collage of science, Kufa university in 2021 to determine the lower concentration
of the pesticide methomel, Which can give the highest killing rate against the adults stage
Tribolium castaneum insects and that when mixed with a rate (1:1) with Basil and Harmal
oils, in addition to studying the oils repellent or attractive effect against adults insect, the
results showed that 0.5 ml/l was give highest percent of killing were 86.67% , while the
lowest rate was 0.125 ml / l, which amounted to 65.83%. The mixing concentration 0.25 ml
/ l with, harmal and basil oil. The previous results showed the possibility of using Basil and
Harmal oils to increase killing rate against the adults of ( Tribolium castaneum). This reduces
the use of chemical insecticides and increases its effectiveness, which has a positive
environmental impact.
