The point spread function (psf) is considered as one of the most important criteria used to evaluate the performance of any optical systems. It was used in this research to evaluate the improvement of the performance of an optical system containing a hexagonal aperture instead of the traditional circular aperture commonly used in optical systems, where the point spread function equation was derived for this hexagonal aperture for a diffraction limit system and for a system containing third order spherical aberration with different values. The results were compared from the results of a single circular aperture containing the same values of spherical aberration. Inurrent study, the activity of 20 soil samples collected from five schools in Nineveh, Iraq has been investigated. The Sodium iodide detector NaI (Tl) was used to calculate the concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K. The average concentration of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K (ppm) has been found to be 1.53, 1.32 and 3.02% respectively. The excited states of S+14 ion in (1SnS) states of n (2, 3, 4 and 5) are studied in singlet and triplet states (1 S, 3 S). This study focuses on studying expectation values of energies (potential (V), kinetic (T), attraction (Ven), repulsion (Vee) and total energy (E)) for S+14 ion in the states (1s 2s, 1s 3s, 1s 4s, 1s 5s). The study also examines some radial atomic properties as expectation values for one electron r m 1, inter particle expectation value r m 12 and analyses one-particle radial density functions D(r1) using Hartree–Fock wave function for these systems. This system consists of two electrons, one electron is in (1S) state (K-shell) and the second electron is in shells (L, M, N, O) (nS) states. It is well established that synthetic apertures of various shapes are superior to a single aperture in improving the overall performance of optical systems. In this research, a set of elliptical synthetic obstructed apertures was used in place of the ellipse synthetic obstructed apertures that was used previously and the calculation of the point spread function to assess the performance of the optical system and reduce the diffraction values from it previously, according to the results, an improvement was observed in the optical system with array of elliptical synthetic obstructed apertures.

In this research, an equation was derived for the encircled energy of point spread function for optical system of circular synthetic apertures. Also, to employ the above equation to determine the value of encircled energy for a set of circular synthetic apertures (N=1,4,8,12) .This study was done for the case of diffraction limited system using Math CAD program, the results show that there is a decrease in the values of encircled energy with increasing the apertures number
