Abstract
Intrinsic performance parameters are a part of quality control tests for the Single Photon Emission Tomography (SPECT). These parameters are influenced by the optical and mechanical properties of the detector’s crystal, in addition to other detector components. In this study, intrinsic performance parameters (spatial resolution, energy resolution, and uniformity) tests were performed for both the SPECT scan and SPECT scan simulated model. Furthermore, these tests were also performed on the SPECT scan model simulated with GAGG,

, and
crystals at different thicknesses using
Tc isotope for low energy tests and 131I isotope for high energy tests. The MTF (modulation transfer function) results for the SPECT scan simulation model response to resolve small bar pattern better than the experimental value of the SPECT scan. On the other hand, the difference between experiment and simulation values for intrinsic energy resolution at 140.5 keV and 364.5 keV ranges from 0.001% to 0.044% and 0.018% to 0.04%, respectively. The obtained intrinsic uniformity values for all SPECT simulation models and the experiment values for the SPECT scan are within the typical range.
