The effect of silver nanoparticles of C. spinose AgNPs on the viability of the primary protoscolices of the Echinococcus granulosus
parasite was studied by means of methylthiosol tetrazolium (MTT) assay after treating with different concentrations (0.015, 0.03, 0.06, 0.12
and 0.18 μg/ mL) of silver nanoparticles of C. spinose AgNPs and compared with albendazole (0.04 g/mL) with different time periods 10
minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours and 24 hours. The significant gradual decrease in the viability of protoscolices was observed
with increasing concentration and time (direct relationship). The concentration was 0.18 μg/mL after 24 hours has the highest toxic effect,
where the viability of protoscolex was only 10% compared to the Abendazole, where the viability of protoscolex was 49% under the same
conditions.
