The paper investigates the pragmatic awareness among English students at the University of Kufa. The sample of the study consists of 105 (male and female) students, fourth-year advanced Iraqi learners studying EFL at the Departments of English at three Faculties (Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Languages and Faculty of Education) at the University of Kufa for the academic year 2018/2019. This faculty group includes (35) students randomly selected. A statistical analysis is conducted to analyze the test items that are presented to the students. The findings have revealed that the students record passive pragmatic awareness. Also, when the results of the three faculties are compared, EFL learners at the Faculty of Education record a better result than Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Languages.
