Many areas of the capital of Iraq , Baghdad, have witnessed a random and unplanned shift in urban land use, where much of the residential land use within the city turned into commercial uses, This change in land use has caused severe traffic jams due to the large number of vehicles frequenting these areas, the insufficient capacity of streets to accommodate vehicles traffic and the lack of sufficient parking spaces, the research aims to build statistical model to calculate the required parking space in the commercial areas for Baghdad city in Iraq required vehicle parking can be estimated according to building areas, the research concludes that some commercial activities (such as restaurants and stores) require more parking for vehicles compared to other commercial activities, and, the need for parking spaces is directly related to the area of commercial activities.
