The Comparative Analysis for Data Normalization Using User Interface Normal Form
Relational Databases are the most frequent type of databases used by organizations worldwide and are the base of several information systems. As recent efforts in data normalization have focused mostly on problems like data duplication, record matching, and data standardization; few of these focus on fixing untapped attribute to achieve an relational databases more structured. Currently, in this paper, the attributes at the schema table will be comparing with the fields in the user interface in two case studies. For the representation of this we are going to use user interface normal form technique. That were neglected the unused attributes in order to offer an optimal schema table in two case studies. The experimental results indicate that the percentage rate of attributes used for Case Study 1 equals to 63.5%, while for Case Study 2 equals to 91.3%. Whereas, the percentage rate of unused attributes for Case Study 1 equals to 36.5%, while for Case Study 2 equals to 8.7%. Therefore, the results indicate that the second case study has the highest proportion of the attributes used and the lower proportion of unused attributes compared to the first Case Study.
