Abstract

Recent year’s Iraqi inland water suffered from several water crisis resembling in shortage of waters levels in Tigris and Euphrates river system, the main source of water in Iraq. Therefore, the continuous water crisis led to increase the salinity concentration of Tigris and Euphrates water, which observed significantly in south regions of Iraq. The present study was conducted to investigate the histopathological changes in kidney of common carp fish that cultured in high salinity concentration environment in Al Basra governorate, Iraq at October, 2018. 40 fishes sample were obtained from five fish ponds (eight fishes each pond) in north region of AL-Basra governorate, Iraq. Kidney samples were collected for histopathology examination. The kidney samples showed nephrotoxicity resembling in necrosis of renal tubules and proliferative lesion in glomeruli of affected kidneys. In conclusion, during October, 2018 water crisis, the fish that cultured in ponds with high salinity environment supplied from Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in Al Basra governorate, Iraq induced severe nephrotoxicity in kidneys of 70% of examined fishes.

Abstract

The present study was conducted to isolate and diagnose the bacterial infection of liver of common carp fish, with investigated the histopathological changes in effected organs. 102 common carp fish were collected from fish farms located in the area of the Abbasia, Najaf, Iraq, During six month of experimental period extended from 1st January to 1st July of 2016. The experimental period of current study was divided into two periods (three month each), first period was started from 1st January to 1st April and the second period was started from 1st April to 1st July . liver samples were collected for bacterial isolation and identification, with histopathological examination. Pathogenic agents were isolated and identified by using culture media (Nutrient agar, Salmonella - Shigella agar, MacConkey agar , pseudomonas agar and EMB agar), biochemical tests and Api20 test for confirmation.Result of this study showed differences between the bacterial isolates in first period from bacterial isolates in second period. The results of bacterial isolates in the first period were (E.coli 23.5%, Enterobacter 21.6% and Aeromonashydrophila 7.8% for the months January, February and March ) , while results of the bacterial isolates in the second period were (E. coli 35.3%, klebseliaoxytoca 15.7%, Salmonella Spp 3.9%, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 7.8% , K.pneumonia 9.8%). Histopathological results show Vaculation, necrosis and nuclear condensation were observed in hepatocytes of effected livers. In conclusion, According to the results obtained in this study, we investigated that , the time period from April up to July pathogenic agent ratio was more than pathogens agent ratio that was isolated in the months of January, February and March. Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research was aimed to isolate and diagnose the Vibrio. Parahaemolyticus that cause black skin lesion from golden fish and study the histopathological changes in the skin and fins. Seventy-two samples of gold fish were taken from Ornamental Fish markets in Al- Najaf city, The bacteria was diagnosed through culture on normal and special media then conducted by biochemical tests as well as the examination was conducted by API20. The samples of fins and skin were examined for histopathological examination, Histopathologically indecated the presence of degeneration and necrosis of the muscles fibers as well odema were seen in interstitial tissue, , congestion and hemorrhage were recorded in the same area with the presence of infiltration of inflammatory cells among the skeletal muscle. This study concluded that V. parahaemolyticus are responsible for the severe histopathological changes in all organs of infected fishes

Abstract

This study was carried out in one of fish markets located in AL-Najaf province / Iraq during the period from October 1, 2013 to February 28, 2014. A total of 90 common goldfish (Carassius auratus) was collected and examined macroscopically and microscopically. The results indicate that all fish were infected with Argulus japonicas according to the morphology of this parasite. Gross lesion showed hemorrhage spot on fins and skin. While, histopathological examination showed focal deposition of melanocytes in the epidermal layer, skeletal muscles, at with edema and hyalinization affecting of skeletal bundles and degenerative with necrotic changes in the epithelial cell and hyperplasia of fin filaments.

Abstract

Abstract: Parasitological examination of three species of marine fishes: Blackspot snapper Lutjanus ehrenbergii (Peters), Dory snapper L. fulviflamma (Forsskål) and L. indicus Allen, White & Erdmann (all Lutjanidae, Snappers); caught from Iraqi marine waters, Arabian Gulf during 2024. All these fishes are harboured the same dactylogyrid monogenoid which identified as Euryhaliotrema seyi Kritsky, 2012. Lutjanus ehrenbergii and L. fulviflamma also harboured Euryhaliotrema cardinale Kritsky & Justine in Kritsky, 2012 which considered this record in a new geographical area (Arabian Gulf). The illustrations of whole mount specimens for E. cardinale and E. seyi are given for the first time. This report represents the second work on monogenoids from lutjanid fishes in Iraq. Keywords: Arabian Gulf, Ectoparasites, Marine fish, Gills, Iraq, Snappers.
