Hosoya polynomial of some cactus chains

AuthorsA Sadeghieh, S Alikhani, N Ghanbari, AJM Khalaf
JournalCogent Mathematics 4 (1), 1305638
Abstract

Let G = (V, E) be a simple graph. Hosoya polynomial of G is H(G, x) = ∑{u,v}⊆V(G) xd(u,v), where d(u, v) denotes the distance between vertices u and v. A cactus graph is a connected graph in which no edge lies in more than one cycle. In this paper we compute the Hosoya polynomial of some cactus chains. As a consequence, Wiener and hyper-Wiener indices of these kind of chains are also obtained.

AuthorsD Fatehi, S Alikhani, AM Khalaf
JournalAdvances and Applications in Discrete Mathematics 18 (1), 45-56
Abstract

Abstract Let G=(V, E) be a simple graph. A set I⊆ V is an independent set, if no two of its members are adjacent in G. The κ-independent graph of G, I^ sub κ^(G), is defined to be the graph whose vertices correspond to the independent sets of G that have cardinality at most Two vertices in I^ sub κ^(G) are adjacent if and only if the corresponding independent sets of G differ by either adding or deleting a single vertex. In this paper, we obtain some properties of I^ sub κ^(G) and compute it for some graphs.

AuthorsJC Sprott, S Jafari, AJM Khalaf, T Kapitaniak
JournalThe European Physical Journal Special Topics 226 (9), 1979-1985
Abstract

In this paper, we describe a periodically-forced oscillator with spatially-periodic damping. This system has an infinite number of coexisting nested attractors, including limit cycles, attracting tori, and strange attractors. We are aware of no similar example in the literature.

Abstract

Let G be a simple connected molecular graph. The eccentric connectivity index ξ(G)ξ(G) is defined as ξ(G)=∑vϵV(G)deg(v)ec(v)ξ(G)=∑vϵV(G)⁡deg(v)ec(v), where deg(v)deg(v) denotes the degree of vertex v and ec(v)ec(v) is the largest distance between v and any other vertex uϵG.uϵG. In this paper, we establish the general formulas for the eccentric connectivity index of molecular graphs of cycloalkenes.

AuthorsMohanad A. Mohammed, K. A. Atan, A. M. Khalaf, M. R. Md. Said, R. Hasni

Abstract

The atom bond connectivity (ABC) index is one of the recently most investigated degree-based molecular structure descriptors that have applications in chemistry. For a graph G, the ABC index is defined as ABC(G)=∑uv∈E(G)dv+du−2/dv⋅du−−−−−−−−−−−−−−√ABC(G)=∑uv∈E(G)dv+du−2/dv⋅du, where d u denotes the degree of a vertex u in G. In this paper, we obtain the general formula for ABC index of some special, chemical trees, and bicyclic graphs.

AuthorsSahib Sh. Kahat, A. M. Khalaf
JournalFar East Journal of Mathematical Sciences (FJMS), 100 (12), 2143-2151.
Abstract

For a commutative ring R, the zero-divisor graph of R is the graph whose vertices are the nonzero zero-divisors of R such that the vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if Let denote the chromatic polynomial of a graph G. Two graphs G and H are chromatically equivalent, written if A graph G is chromatically unique written c-unique, if for any graph H, implies that G is isomorphic with H. This paper focuses on the chromatic polynomials, the chromatic equivalence and the chromatic uniqueness of certain types of zero-divisor graphs.

JournalAIP Conference Proceedings 1739 (1), 020035
Abstract

The atom-bond connectivity (ABC) index is one of the newly most studied degree based molecular structure descriptors, which have chemical applications. For a graph G, the ABC index can be defined as ABC (G)= Σ uv∈ E (G) dv+ du− 2/dv. du, where du, the degree of the vertex u is the number of edges with u as an end vertex denotes the degree of a vertex u in G. In this paper, we establish the general formulas for the atom bond connectivity index of molecular graphs of alkenes and cycloalkenes.

JournalAIP Conference Proceedings 20043 (1739)
Abstract

Let G=(V, E) be a simple connected molecular graph. In such a simple molecular graph, vertices and edges are depicted atoms and chemical bonds respectively, we refer to the sets of vertices by V (G) and edges by E (G). If d (u, v) be distance between two vertices u, v∈ V (G) and can be defined as the length of a shortest path joining them. Then, the eccentricity connectivity index (ECI) of a molecular graph G is ξ (G)=∑ v∈ V (G) d (v) ec (v), where d (v) is degree of a vertex v∈ V (G). ec (v) is the length of a greatest path linking to another vertex of v. In this study, we focus the general formula for the eccentricity connectivity index (ECI) of some chemical trees as alkenes.

AuthorsR. S. Haoer, K. A. Atan, A. M. Khalaf, M. Rushdan, R. Hasni
JournalInternational Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics 106 (2), 415-427
Abstract

Let G = (V, E) be a simple connected molecular graph. In such a simple molecular graph, vertices represent atoms and edges represent chemical bonds, we denoted the sets of vertices and edges by V(G) and E(G), respectively. If d(u, v) be the notation of distance between vertices u, v ε V(G) and is defined as the length of a shortest path connecting them. Then, the eccentricity connectivity index of a molecular graph G is defined as ζ(G) = Σ vεv(G) deg(v)ec(v), where deg(v) is degree of a vertex v ε V(G), and is defined as the number of adjacent vertices with v. ec(v) is eccentricity of a vertex v ε V(G), and is defined as the length of a maximal path connecting to another vertex of v. In this paper, we establish the general formulas for the eccentricity connectivity index of some classes of chemical trees.
