Abstract

A test was used that allows detection of clinical and subclinical infection for FMD virus by means of the use of a serological approach (NSP analysis) the 3ABC-ELISA for the discrimination of FMDV- diseased animals from those that carried merely been immunized. A sum of 84 serum specimens from naive livestock and cross breed from 4 associations of animals were studied protecting, non- immunization, single immunized and several vaccinations, constitute four districts in Al-Najaf Governorate to evaluation of antibodies to non-structural proteins of FMDV. Making use of the NSP ELISA test, the sero-occurrence assessed in farm animals was 34% (29/84). The seroprevalence of FMD in relation to the age of infected animal was 21%, 7% and 6% in 9-23, 24 -36 and ≥36 months respectively. The consequences of examination of the sera from naive, immunized and non-immunized infected farm animals applying 3ABC-ELISA are presented, the incidence of FMD infected in non-vaccinated animals and vaccinated were 18 (75%) and 11 (18%) respectively. Negative results were recorded in immunized group 49 (82%) higher than in non –immunized group 6 (25%). look at on using NSP check to separate among animals that have been vaccinated and infected ; considerably attracting on the application of those assessments to aid FMD manage programs in areas where foot

Abstract

Abstract This study was designed to evaluate the trace elements in the blood of sheep suffering from clinical signs of mineral deficiency . Thousand (1000) ewe were examined clinically and 32 were suffering from sever mineral deficiency, while 10 animals clinically healthy selected as control group . Blood samples were taken, 32 samples from the infected group and other 10 samples from the control group . Blood samples were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results showed high deficiency in trace elements as well as presence of significant differences between the affected and the control groups at p<0.05 .The values of Cu, Fe, Co, Zn and Pb in serum of control group were 0.859 ± 0.091 ppm , 2.038 ±0.016 ppm , 0.519 ± 0.076 ppm , 1.028 ± 0.015 ppm , 0.003 ± 0.0005 ppm respectively and in affected group Cu,Fe,Co,Zn And Pb were 0.209 ± 0.006 ppm, 0.294 ± 0.025 ppm, 0.012 ± 0.001 ppm , 0.190 ± 0.007 ppm, 0.053 ± 0.006 ppm respectively. There was no significant variation in toxic metal Pb between affected and control group.at (p<0.05).

The prevalence of brucellosis of farm animals using serum- and milk- ELISA test in Al- Najaf province

AuthorsAbdulameer A.Hatem Faculty of Veterinary Medicine/University of Kufa
Journalجامعة الكوفة
Abstract

A total of 412 sera and milk samples were collected from the same animals of 88 buffaloes, 212 cattle, 84 sheep and 28 goat were screened by indirect ELISA (i ELISA) milk confirmed with serum i- ELISA. The results of seropositive i-ELISA were 121(29.36%) from all farm animals and distributed to 20 (22.27%) buffaloes, 36 (16.98%) cattle , 56(66.6%) sheep and 9 (32.14%) goat . The positive results of milk i ELISA were 89 (21.6%) from all farm animals and distributed to 8 (9.09%) , 32 (15.09%) , 44(52.83%) and 5(17.85%) represent buffaloes , cattle , sheep and goat respectively . A structured questionnaire was used to collect epidemiological information on the animals ( abortion , stillbirth and previous history vaccination agonist brucellosis . The prevalence was relatively higher in sheep and goat followed by buffaloes and cattle . The sera and milk i ELISA test is only the best serological tests and has a high efficiency and accuracy in the diagnosis and inexpensive and can be used to control of the disease.
