The new tetra azo methine macrocyclic ligand[ ( 9E)-11-((Z)-(5-chloro-2-methyl phenyl) diazenyl )-7,8,10,12,14,15-hexa methyl -6,16-
diphenyl-7,11,15,16-tetrahydro-6H-benzo[e]diPyrazolo[4,3-3,4-h][1,4,7,10]tetra azo cyclotride cine] has been synthesized from condensation of
(3-[5-chloro-2-methyl phenyl azo]-2,4 di( imino-4-antipyrineyl) pentane) with o-phenylene diamine. Monomeric complexes with the general
formula [M(L)]Cl2 Wher. M= Co(II) , Ni (II), Cu (II) and Zn(II) are reported. The Structures of new ligand , mode of bonding and over all geome try
of the complexes were determined through IR, UV-Vis, and1 H NMR spectral studies, magnetic moment measurement, elemental analysis, metal
content, and molar conductance. These studies revealed squar planaer geometries for all complexes. Complex formation studies via molar ratio and
continuous variation .methods were consisted to those found in the solid complexes with a ratio of ( M:L) as (1:1) . Stabitity constant of complexes
were calculated by spectro photometricaly. Hyper Chem-8 program has been used to predict structural geometries of compounds in gas phase. The
heat of formation (ΔHf) and binding energy (ΔE b) at 298 K for the metal complexes was calculated by PM3 method. Biological activity studies of
the ligand and its metal complexes against several organisms , staphylococcus aureus, Esherichia coli, Klebsilla, Aspegills niger, Aspegills flavus are
reported . Compounds exhibited the high effect of activity. This may be attributed to the impact of both the chelate effect o f macro cyclic Schiff
bases ligand and the role of the metal in these complexes.
