Abstract : The adsorption behaviors of methylene blue in aqueous solution an germanium oxide and yttrium oxide as an adsorbent were studied .A series of experiments were undertaken in a batch adsorption technique to access the effect of the process variables i.e. initial dye concentration, contact time ,initial pH, adsorbent dose ,temperature (298K), adsorbent dosage (0.1gm) higher values of the initial pH(7.0)for GeO2and Y2O3 respectively . The equilibrium in the solution was observed within (30min)of methylene blue on GeO2 and Y2O3.The equilibrium isotherm for methylene blue was determind to describe the adsorption processes .The results showed that the equilibrium data were fitted by both of the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms on GeO2 and Y2O3 surfaces . Also the results obtained shows the isotherms were (S4) on GeO2 and (S3) on Y2O3 according to Giles classification .The thermodynamic parameters at compound such as ∆H, ∆G and ∆S of adsorption were calculated .
