This study was conducted at the poultry farm , Animal Resource of Department,
College of Agriculture ,the university of Babylon during the period from 14th of July to
18th August 2011 . The experiment aimd to investigate the effect of compound Lovit
supplemente with drinking water to alleviate the negative effects of heat stress through
study of some productive traits of broiler chickens were being exposed to daily stress of
acyclic temperature .(28-38c) Three hundred unsexed on day old chick Ross , average
weight 40g/chick . The chicks were reared on a ground throughout two stage : The first
stage from one – day old to 14 day old with no treatment whereas second stage was
from 15 to 35 days of age . They were randomly allocated 4 treatments groups , each
comprising 3 replicates of 20 chicks . The treatment containing four lovit at 0 , 1 , 2
and 3 ml/L water T1 , T2 , T3 and T4 respectively . Birds reared under cyclic high
temperature 28 – 38 – 28 c° and relative humidity average 60-70% . The most important
result can be summarize .
1- Birds in T4 have a higher (p < 0.05) body Wight means at 5 weeks of age , and total
weight gain means during the period (3-5) weeks of age compared with other treatment .
2- During the period (3-5) weeks of age , feed in take for T4 was a higher (p < 0.05)
compared with other treatment studied .
3- During the period (3-5) weeks of age , feed conversion efficiency values ration where
significantly (p < 0.05) improved in all treatments as compared with T1 .
4- A significant (p < 0.05) increase in dressing percentage in T3 and T4 as compared
with T1 and T2. |
